There are numerous activities waiting for you to enjoy in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. There is something for everyone in this beach town! Famous for its surfing and sport fishing above all, Tamarindo is central to many popular tours and attractions including Canopy Tours, whitewater rafting, estuary tours, hot spring baths, beach activities like kite surfing and jet skis, sailboat and catamaran tours and any number of hiking and wildlife watching opportunities.

The climate is tropical year-round, with an average temperature of about 80°F. Generally the best time of year to visit is December through March. However, even November and April through August are normally very pleasant in the mornings and with rain in the afternoons and some evenings. September and October are the wettest months but offer the best surfing.

The Town of Tamarindo offers a great jumping off point for you and your family to enjoy all Costa Rica has to offer.  At the beaches nearby you will have an opportunity to enjoy sports fishing, sailing, surfing, turtle nesting, monkey and wildlife reserves and scuba diving/snorkeling. In town or at nearby resorts, take advantage of golf, beauty spas, an art gallery and crafts and pottery stores. Many come to study Spanish at the local language schools as well.

Outside of town, head out for some horseback riding, canopy tours, hot spring mineral baths or jungle boat rides. If you want to sample the famous Costa Rican eco-tourism, you have the opportunity to visit fabulous national parks like Palo Verde, Santa Rosa, Las Baulas, Guanacaste and Rincon de la Vieja.

Last but certainly not least, you will find a variety of restaurants that will please anyone’s palate either in Tamarindo or in nearby Playa Langosta. Choose from a variety of restaurants with menus that include vegetarian, Costa Rican, Italian, Sushi or Seafood to name a few.
